The Italian Quattrocchi in an unstoppable mode ..... singles match 5 in Senglea

The Italian Quattrocchi in an unstoppable mode ..... singles match 5 in Senglea ... match report by John Attard

Today ushered in the 5th singles KSFA league match which was held at Senglea.

It dawned a cloudy morning and an ideal day for fishing.

It was Carmelo Quattrochi`s turn to impress as he had a great day.

Starting off with saddle bream (sparli) followed by a good amount of boops (Vopi) landing a total of 2.33kgs, he even afforded to lose a nice salp (xilpa) and a good size parrotfish in the process.

He used mostly a paternoster rig on a rod and reel with small hooks and a 5m pole.

In second place came Steve Johnston with 1.14kgs who also got saddle bream and wrasse using a short flexible rod and fishing close to shore.

Third was Joe Ellul landing 1.04kgs who had a slow start but Joe never gave up and his persistence reaped dividends.

Section winners on the day were: Franklin Formosa, Adrian Nelson and Brian Farrugia. With these results the league is still wide open, the last match the marshals match being the decisive factor.
