Stefan Borg re-opens the title race
This was the third singles match of the season; being quite decisive. Everyone was excited to fish for the first time in Bieghi this season. As the horn blew at 7, poles and rods were casted immediately, hoping they could land some nice bottom fish. Early in the match, it could be noticed that weights were good, with every angler landing fish at a steady rate.
A whole variety of bottom fish was caught, the majority being bream and wrasses. Stefan Borg and James Micallef were doing well early in the match, and continued to do so, earning them the first and second place respectively. More important was that Stefan gained the 8 points and James got the 7. On the other hand Franklin Formosa kept his advantage by gaining the 6 points and cemented his top position to a further 3 points.
Meanwhile Brian Farrugia kept his perfect record of 16 points from two matches. Everything is to play for in next week’s match in Birgu Toqba. About 7 competitors are in good chance of making it in the KSFA top 3, in this single’s season.
Good luck to all! On behalf of the committee, I would also like to thank all of the members for showing sense of sportiness at all times!
