Roberto Bugeja and Adrian Nelson win the 1st doubles match 2015 ..... newcomers Lyon and Pierre Galea achieve a good start .... Tubertini boys get 2nd place

KSFA  First Doubles league match goes to Roberto Bugeja and Adrian Nelson.

Today saw the grand opening of KSFAS' doubles league.

It was a frigid morning when our anglers met at 0600 this morning all eager for the first cast.

They found waiting for them on the venue a large bucket for each team filled with the groundbait and bait.

The draws were made and all procceeded to their peg.

The first cast was made, this with mixed fortunes. The fish started to bite early for some and then slowed down, for others it was exactly the opposite.

Some nice annular seabream (Sparli) were landed together with some Common Pandora (Pagell) and a couple of mullets and the usual sprinkle of Wrasse.

In the meantime the Marshalls came round with pastizzi and coffee for all!

The first winners of the new season were:

1st place - Roberto Bugeja and Adrian Nelson with 2.2kgs

2nd place - Franklin Formosa and Jason Saliba with 1.8kgs

3rd place - Lyon Galea and Pierre Galea with 1.61kgs

Section Winners were John Attard and Joe Schembri with 1.54kgs and Jonatahan and Gareth Farrugia with 1.16kgs.

After the match there was a tubertini reel to be won kindly donated by our sponsor for this year Norbert Spagnol of Tubertini Malta.

But more surprises were in the offing as in the meantime Marshall Robert Attard, was cooking something, and this literally, as he actually prepared brunch for all, with sausages, bacon and rolls
