Report - KSFA Tubertini Doubles League Match 4

Kevin Cassar & Saviour Borg Win the final Doubles competition.

Yesterday we had the Doubles League Match 4 that was fished at Valletta Waterfront. The weather was perfect and anglers met at 05:30am with a lot of anticipation since for 2nd & 3rd Overall 

Pegs were drawn and all teams started rigging their rods and preparing the groundbait. The first hour bites were low and immediately it was noted that the competition is was completely balanced. Kevin & Saviour were the first ones to start having some repetitive hook ons. Other teams started trying to recover the lost time from the initial stages. Unfortunately Nelson & Tonna that were trying for an Overall Top 3 finish couldn't find any bites.

After 4hrs of fishing the marhalls weighed up all the team's catches and released all the fish back alive in the sea. 

Kevin Cassar & Saviour Borg managed to win the competition with a weight of 3.210Kgs. In 2nd place we find Andre Borg & Paul Sammut with a weight of 2.498Kgs whilst the final spot of the podium was won by the team formed from Brian Farrugia & Emy Grech with a weight of 2.234Kgs. 

After the competition we had some drinks and snacks together whilst joking and talking about the competition. We also had a 6M Tubertini Pole rod as a raffle that was won by Adrian Nelson.

John Attard & Sandro build more on the Winning Momentum.

Last Sunday we had the Doubles League Match 2 that had to be fished at Exiles Sliema. Unfortunately like the previous match the weather wasn't favourable and the big swell made the venue dangerous to fish. Thus it was decided to fish at Ta Xbiex between the Ta Xbiex waterpolo Club & Irrera Restaurant. 

Pegs were drawn and all teams started rigging their rods and preparing the groundbait. As soon as the competition started John & Sandro managed to hook a couple of mullets and  a nice parrot fish whilst the other teams had much less bites with some bottom fish being caught. The more time passed the less fish were being caught and John & Sandro had already a big lead in their favour. 

After 4hrs trying different techniques the end of the competition was signalled. Marshalls weighed up all the teams and released all the fish back alive in the sea. 

The top 3 positions were won in the exact order as the previous competition with John Attard & Sandro Cohen securing 1st place with a weight of 3.044Kgs, in second place came Clayton Camilleri & James Gilson with a weight of 1.481Kgs and the final spot of the podium was won by Adrian Nelson & Jeanclaude Tonna with a weight of 1.256Kgs. 

After the competition a Tubertini Hylas 3000 FD reel sponsored by our sponsor GoFish was raffled. New Club member Brian Camilleri won the reel.
