During this weekend 7 anglers from our Club and a couple
of helpers have gone to Scoglitti a municipality in the province of Ragusa to compete in Tubertini Day a competition that spanned over 2 days in memory of the late Velio Tubertini.
The anglers that represented KSFA were John Attard, Raymond Farrugia, Bjorn Brincat, Stefan Zahra, Robert Attard, James Gilson & Saviour Borg. Competitions were held on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
The marina of Scoglitti proved to be quite a difficult venue and the weather conditions did not help either. After Day 1 (Saturday afternoon) our Club was lurking very near the bottom of the the Club's table with only James Gilson obtaining a promising good result obtaining 2nd in his section.
On Day 2 our boys adapted to the circumstances, and pulled their socks up and managed to do what had seemed utterly impossible and incredibly, climbing to 2nd place in the classification, with Bjorn Brincat winning his section and Stefan Zahra managing 2nd place, and the rest also registered an improvement from the previous day.
Well done to all and thank you Claudio Cassarino for a very well organised tournament. Last but not least we wish to thank Alex, Lawrence and John too for helping out our members too.
