KSFA Johnstons League Final Matches - Report

KSFA Singles Finals Match 1 - Report

The much anticipated singles finals, started today, with match 1 of 2 being held at the Vittoriosa Grand Harbour Marina, whom we thank for the kind permit to fish. Bites were few and far between, with only the occasional mullet being the main entertainer, as otherwise only small fish were present today.

Clayton Camilleri made the most of the day by catching damsel fish and a nice parrot fish, Clayton had a weight of .840grms, in 2nd Place we had Club President John Attard with .660g and 3rd place went to Ray Farrugia who had .510g. Both Ray & John managed to land a couple of mullets.

Section Winners were Sec A Roberto Bugeja and Saviour Borg with identical weight of .390g, and Section B Sandro Cohen with .380g.

We wish to thank all our sponsors, especially our Main Sponsor Mister Fish for the vouchers, Marks Hardware Store for the trophies and Mirandex Ltd for the  Singles Finals

KSFA Singles Finals Match 2 - Report

It was a beautiful morning with hardly a breeze, and clear blue sky’s, the sea with hardly a ripple, with the backdrop of Manoel Island, towering over our anglers who were eagerly waiting for the horn, which would mean the start of this year's Final Johnston Singles League match. It was so close that no one would dare bet on who would be champion. In fact 3 anglers finished on the same number of points. In this case the final weight accumulated of the anglers had to decide the championship. Finally only a few grams decided the winner. And our congratulations go to Roberto Bugeja who surpassed his nearest rival John Attard with just 080g, who in turn surpassed Clayton Camilleri with just .060g. Yes ladies and gentleman thats how close it was to the very end. A big well done, not only to the winners but to all who participated.
The winners of this last match today were, 1st Roberto Bugeja with 1.36kg, 2nd Sandro Cohen on 1.330kg and 3rd John Attard with 1.01kgs. Section Winners were, Fortune Calafato and Clayton Camilleri.

A special thanks to all our sponsors, especially our main sponsor, Mister Fish for the vouchers, Marks Hardware store for the trophies and Mirandex Ltd for biggest fish trophy.
